The talking drum is an hour glassed shaped drum from West Africa, whose pitch can be regulated to mimic the tone and prosody of human speech. It has two drumheads connected by leather tension cords, which allow the player to modulate the pitch of the drum by squeezing the cords between his or her arm and body. Back in the ancient days for various African empires it was used as a form of communication a sort of a Morse code of such.
The goal of this website is to be a talking drum between Africans across the globe. Here you can get access to anything African in the the Diaspora, such as restaurants, stores, churches, events, networking events, or simply connecting with other Africans.
